Tuesday, second day into the Championship.  In the evening, the players have been invited by the sponsors –Bodega González-Byass– to visit their wine-cellar in Jerez de la Frontera.  A warning sign lit up in the bus driving the group just before the last stretch, a steep uphill! Fortunately, it made it to the door!  Our hosts had prepared a guided visit to the wine cellar.  We were able to see the structure built by Eiffel (yes, the same Eiffel of the Paris tower), the main bodegas with hundreds of wooden barrels, the quaint streets with the illuminated cathedral in the background, where the mice like to drink their wine… Some barrels were signed by celebrities, kings and queens, some by sports figures (although we didn’t find the croquet champion’s barrel!).  When the tour ended we were offered samples of different wines they produce and some delicious appetizers.
